Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to those in need.

 

The Upsilon Alpha Chapter strives to carry out these efforts by  encouraging young-women to achieve excellence through higher education. At the heart of this effort, is our commitment to providing scholarships to local high school seniors in Guilford County.

 

The Upsilon Alpha Scholarships are awarded to a local high school senior. They are to be a young women who exemplify academic excellence, strong leadership ability, and community involvement.The Upsilon Alpha Chapter is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to high school women who are seeking to pursue post-secondary education (i.e.: 2 or 4 year institutions, trade schools, etc.).
